Annual Kids Art Fest to be held on November 17
Perry County Opera House and Cultural Arts Center (PCOHACAC) will conduct their third annual Kid’s Art Fest: Active Body, Active Mind on November 17 in New Lexington,Ohio. The event will be held between 1 to 4 p.m. in the basement of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. The Kid’s Art Fest will host activities by Monday Creek Restoration Project, Little Cities of Black Diamonds, and Perry County Waste Reduction and Recycling along with Darcy Ogden with cookie decorating, Betsy Martin with creative dramatics, and Cathi from Cathi’s Studio as well as craft activity stations in New Lexington, Ohio.
Monday Creek Restoration Project which is based in New Straitsville strives for the restoration of the Monday Creek watershed. They are also involved in implementing various techniques and projects to remedy the water and host many educational outreach programs. Little Cities of Black Diamonds works in conjunction with other local groups to collect, archive, rediscover, and renovate local history including historical documents, oral, natural and manmade history. Perry County Waste Reduction and Recycling strive to encourage recycling and composting, as well as reduce littering and encourage community clean-up events. The main attraction will be Zumba with Cathi from Cathi’s Studio. Entry is free along with provisions for lunch for all participants.
