Obama: ‘It’s not US Job to Perfect Afghan’
US President Barack Obama said on Tuesday that we had to recognize Afghanistan would not be a perfect place. He added: it is not America’s responsibility to make it one. The future of Afghanistan must be decided by Afghans.
He said that the US forces would have been completely pulled back from the war torn region by the end of 2012.In the White House Rose Garden Obama was unveiling a plan to end the country’s operations in Afganistan-the longest war 15 years after the Septemper 11 attacks.
Obama said that the 32000-strong US army in Afghanistan would be scaled down to around 9800 by the start of 2015. He said that the ‘conflict’ had claimed the lives more than 2,300 US personnel.
He added that the US combat operation, which is patrolling Afghan cities, towns or valleys , would end at the end of this year.
