Dubai Food Carnival Underway
The 23-day Dubai Food Festival is underway at the Dubai Food Carnival at the Festival City in Dubai. The event is organized by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE) and will give the gourmets an opportunity to indulge in a variety of cuisines, interact with celebrity chefs and attend culinary classes and workshops.
Family themed entertainment including competitions and comedy shows would also be part of the event. There would be cooking demos from star chefs and food samplings. Tickets are available on a special offer with Dh30 for adults and free for children under twelve years of age. International stars chef John Torode, chef Silvena Rowe from the BBC’s highly-acclaimed food shows, as well as regional culinary heavyweights such as the award-winning Maroun Chedid, from Lebanon, Manal Al Alem, known as “Queen of the Arabic Kitchen”, chef Tarek Ibrahim, Fatafeat TV fame, and Indian cookery expert, Sanjeev Kapoor will also be present at the star studded carnival.
More than hundred food and drinks stalls featuring local and international brands would be present at the culinary extravaganza. “with more than 100 participating food retailers and exhibitors highlighting Dubai’s unique food culture, the carnival will be a fantastic culinary experience for food services companies and consumers, and the perfect curtain raiser for the Dubai Food Festival that will feature city-wide celebrations of all things culinary until March 15” said Trixie LohMirmand, Senior Vice President, Exhibitions and Events Department, DWTC.
