IIC to host Annual Art Festival

Nagamandalam (1)Delhi is about to celebrate the arrival of the Festive Season, which highlights arts and cultures of countries across the world. It includes music, dance and food festival. The Festival at the India International Centre focuses on dance, music, theatre and films, hold discussions, exhibitions and highlight World Cuisine. It is expected that south Korea, Indonesia, Philippines, Kazakhistan and Brazil will participate in the annual festival of arts, from October 17 to October 24.

“ I do not really want to sell or promote this Festival. It is a Cultural Fiesta meant for enthusiasts to enjoy and relax. For once let not the people discuss 2G and 3G scams or rampant corruption. There will be beautiful dance, music and food from various parts of the country and world,” said Soli J. Sorabjee, IIC president.

A presentation on the life of the 15th century poet Surdas by Shekhar Sen, followed by a jazz concert by Sonia Saigal are scheduled for October 18. Voice of Angels, a traditional Korean and Western music confluence with contemporary dance, spoorthi, a Kuchipudi recital; music by Turan Folkloric Group from Kazakhistan and a concert of Rondalla Music by Celso Espejo Rondalla are expected to be presented in the Festival which will have four major exhibitions.
